A Fusion of Grandmillennial and Postmodern Design
When we met with our client for the first time, we were faced with a home that lacked character, personality, and the distinctive elements of a curated home. With a vision that blended grandmillennial and postmodern styles, we embarked on a journey to innovate the space, infusing it with character and personality. Through the strategic use of wallpaper, paint colors, and sourcing unique antiquities, we transformed Berry Drive into a captivating masterpiece that reflects our client’s unique taste.
With ornate patterns and intricate designs, wallpapers became the cornerstone of our design approach. In the living room, a playful tropical wallpaper a grasscloth texture was carefully chosen to create a focal point, elevating the space and differentiating the open concept areas.
In our pursuit of creating a truly remarkable interior, we understood the importance of drama. To achieve this, we strategically selected areas where wallpapers would have the greatest impact. Drawing the eye to this once lost bookshelf and adding impactful contrast with all-black decor accessories.
The kitchen, once devoid of personality, received a vibrant makeover with green-painted cabinets that exude character and modernity. The bold hue injects energy into the space, while the sleek lines of postmodern design create a harmonious balance with the traditional grandmillennial elements.
While incorporating wallpapers and vibrant colors, we made conscious choices to maintain a sense of balance and harmony. By selecting complementary patterns, textures, and colors, we ensured that the grandmillennial and postmodern elements seamlessly merged, resulting in a cohesive and visually striking interior.
In the powder bathroom, an oversized floral print wallpaper in deep, rich tones became the backdrop for a vintage mirror, instantly transforming the space from builder-grade and bland to playful, yet intricate. A small, yet impactful room. The bold blue door connects to the wallpaper while a cheeky portrait adorns the toilet area.
We seized a unique opportunity to elevate the primary bedroom design without replacing our client’s original bed. During our sourcing, we stumbled upon an incredible vintage Missoni fabric on Ebay. With its vibrant colors and captivating pattern, it was the perfect choice to add a new dimension to the bed. We upholstered a custom panel that precisely fit the bed's inset and breathed new life into the piece while maintaining a sense of continuity with the overall design.
The guest bedroom's transformation into a moody and bold retreat showcases the power of postmodern design. By incorporating a playful wallpaper and enveloping the space with a dark paint color, we crafted an atmosphere that is both captivating and intriguing. The unexpected contrast of the black and white rug adds an element of surprise and sophistication. Together, these elements create a harmonious fusion of moody ambiance and postmodern influences, resulting in a guest bedroom that is sure to leave a lasting impression on anyone who enters.
In this sweet and adorable guest bedroom, the grandmillennial aesthetic takes center stage, creating an enchanting haven for guests. The master bathroom transformation was a delightful journey of infusing classic yet playful elements into the space. With the selection of a fun Morris & Co. wallpaper as the backdrop, the addition of a vintage bamboo mirror, and the perfect artwork—a romantically intertwined pair of toothbrushes—we created an atmosphere of whimsical elegance that breathes new life into the master bathroom.
In the pursuit of creating special moments within the home, the laundry room often holds untapped potential. With a vision to turn this functional space into a memorable experience, we embarked on a transformation that resulted in an enchanting laundry room. By incorporating a fabulous wallpaper by Danika Herrick and cabinets painted in Benjamin Moore Avon Green, we created a delightful surprise, hidden behind faux cabinet doors, that elevates the laundry room into a truly adorable haven. Another surprise in the home is the easily refreshed fireplace which we coated in a pale blush!
When embarking on the outdoor area update, our goal was to create a space that could easily adapt to future additions, such as a pool, while maintaining a stylish and practical design. To achieve this, we implemented a paver and pea gravel look, offering both flexibility and aesthetic appeal. This design choice ensures that the outdoor area can be transformed seamlessly when the time comes to add a pool, providing a versatile and functional space for years to come.
