A Fresh Take on an Outdated Kitchen
Trisha and Adam were so over their all-wood and granite kitchen and wanted something light, bright and modern! Victoria Holly and her team transformed the kitchen to be more functional and blend with their overall aesthetic.
ThE BEFORE
Trisha and Adam's kitchen just wasn't them. While the overall layout was okay, there was a lot of lost space above the cabinets. The microwave was also in a bit of a funky location. The good news was we didn't need to move any gas or plumbing and most of the updates were just surface level like updating cabinets, tile, and countertops.
The Plan
Trisha and Adam knew they wanted bright and white. And they loved clean and modern lines. So we opted for glossy white flat-panel cabinets with polished nickel hardware. For the tile, a modern glass subway tile, installed in a stacked fashion gave it a streamlined look. We were able to move the microwave to the island and build a false soffit above the cabinets so everything felt more built-in. We also decided to do some shelves above the sink to break up all the white. For the countertops, we went for the durable Caesarstone carrera look-alike to break up the solid white while also providing some visual interest.
ThE RESULT
The kitchen turned out beautiful with the glass white tile and the marble breaking up the glossy white cabinets. Soft greens and blues added some playful notes to the kitchen as well. The kitchen also became even more functional when their baby arrived - family could gather around the island chatting and snacking!
